Rustam Komachkov with his virtuosity, artistry and superb sound, is considered one of the most gifted cellists of his generation. Rustam Komachkov performed in the best halls of the Russia capital: Big, Small and Rachmaninov Halls of the Moscow Conservatory, International House of Music and so on. The vast geography of his performances includes Russia and CIS countries, as well as Germany, Italy, South Korea, Holland, Croatia, Montenegro, Argentina and France.

He collaborated with such conductors as Vladimir Verbitsky, Y. Kochnev, T. Curentzis, K. Krimets, S. Skripka, R. Abdullayev, R. Nigmatulin, S. Oselkov, as well as I.Frolov, V. Bulakhov, M. Rakhlevsky, K. Masliuk.

Rustam was born in a family of musicians.From 7 years, started the cello lessons at the Gnessins music school. He continued his education at the Moscow Conservatory, where he studied with professor V Feigin, a disciple of the founder of the Russian cello school S. Kozolupov. During his post-graduate studies, led by professor A. Melnikov and A. Knyazev, cellist won several prizes in various competitions: The National Cello Competition, the International Chamber Ensemble Competition in Vercelli (Italy), First Prize at the International Competition in Trapani and di Caltanisseta (Italy).

Rustam’ s repertoire includes 16 concertos for cello and orchestra, a large number of chamber and solo virtuoso contemporary music, as well as virtuoso pieces for violin arranged for cello (J. S. Bach “Chaconne” and Sarasate “Gypsy Tunes”. Musician’ s discography includes six albums recorded for the “Melody”, “Classical Records”, SMS by Sonic-Solution and “Bohemia Music” labels. One of the most recent solo projects — the album “Violin masterpieces for cello”.
