About Dmitry Khakhamov

Graduated with honours from the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory (classes of professors B.Belenkiy and M. Glezarova). His professional career began in 1988 in Moscow Philharmonic orchestra with conductor D. Kitaenko, shortly he assumed the first deputy concertmaster position in this orchestra. Since 1994 till 2003 Dmitry worked as concertmaster of the Chamber Orchestra of Russia under baton of K. Orbelyan. In 2003 D. Khakhamov became the first concertmaster of the orchestra of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. In 2000 he received the title of Honoured artist of the Russian Federation. He has made numerous performings as a guest soloist and concertmaster with the State Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Philharmonic, State Chamber Orchestra and other ensembles in Russia and abroad. Dmitry regularly participates in chamber music concerts as a soloist, and in partnership with various well-known musicians. He has also recorded both as a soloist and in ensembles many CD, released by Philips, Chandos, Delos, Pentaton and other world-known labels. Since 2005 D. Khakhamov is a permanent member (1st violin) of the Bolshoi Theatre string quartet.
