About Ekaterina Hofman

Ekaterina Hofman (flute) was born in Moscow. In 1990 graduated from the Central Music School of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and in 1995 — the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (class of professor Y. Dolzhikov). Since 1992 till 2002 she was a soloist of the Moscow State Philharmonic Academic Symphony Orchestra. In 2003 Ekaterina became the soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra. 1997 E. Hofman was awarded the title of laureate (II prize) at the International Chamber Music Competition in France (Arles). Ekaterina is an active solo performer. She has played with many orchestras, amongst Academic Symphony orchestra of the Moscow state Philharmonic, Nizhny Novgorod Philharmonic, Saratov Philharmonic. She also performed together with such renowned conductors and soloists as Dmitriy Kitaenko, Vasily Sinaisky, Pavel Sorokin, Igor Oistrakh, Valentin Zhuk. Ekaterina took part in the recording session of composer Leonid Desyatnikov’ s chamber music “Sketches to Sunset” as well as his music to the movies “His Wife’ s Diary” and “Moscow”. Ekaterina Hofman has many recordings on radio and TV.
